Dr Reinis Riekstiņš obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Rīga Stradiņš University. He completed the urology residency programme at the Faculty of Residency Studies of Rīga Stradiņš University, with clinical training carried out at the Urology and Oncological Urology Clinic of Riga East University Hospital. Since 2026, he has been a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
His professional interests include the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, including transperineal prostate biopsies using real-time magnetic resonance and ultrasound fusion (MR/US Fusion) and focal therapy using high-intensity focused ultrasound, as well as oncological urology and men's sexual health and penile prosthesis-related issues.
Dr Riekstiņš is actively involved in research — he is a lecturer at the Department of Surgery at Rīga Stradiņš University and has been a doctoral student at Rīga Stradiņš University since 2026. Dr Riekstiņš is the author of several scientific publications and has participated in several clinical studies, as well as regularly participating in international urology conferences and congresses as a speaker.
He consults patients in Latvian, English and Russian.
